In today's ever more connected market it is no longer just enough to put up a simple blog or site and hope that your site makes it to the top of Google for your local market.  Even if you are in a specialty business you will still need to let the world know how to find your website and ultimately your business.  If you are just getting started with social media accounts or just created your first website, then you are starting off on the right foot.  We will be going through some things to make sure that you are doing everything you can with your marketing to let your friends, family, neighbors, and city know that you have arrived and are open for business.

Your Search Engine Optimization should include much more than just your company name and overview for the goods and services you are offering.  You need to look at what you can specifically supply to your local market and what sets you apart from your competitors.  If you are a part of a franchise or a larger business, you can expect that local customers are searching for your type of business and will probably find out information about your main headquarters and not your local site.  Unless you follow some of these simple rules when setting up a local site.

You should be as specific as possible when you include your address and location information on your website.  This is extremely important if you are a storefront for a much larger collection of businesses.   If your location is inside of a shopping center or larger Office building then make sure you include your floor, suite #, or even box number that is associated with your place of business.  Another important thing to consider is providing your customers with directions on how to find your business.
